Three episodes across the first two evenings, then one each Monday and Tuesday.
December 7 premiere confirmed
The Second Signal, the continuation of Signal, will premiere on tvN on December 7, 2026. The channel announced its plans in a November 6 statement reproduced in full by Korean outlets and Soompi. The eight-episode series will air on Mondays and Tuesdays, starting at 10 p.m. KST. On December 7, that corresponds to 3 p.m. in Romania.
The opening follows a special pattern. Episodes one and two will air consecutively on Monday, December 7, followed by episode three on Tuesday, December 8. That gives the series three episodes across two evenings before its regular weekly rhythm begins.
How the eight episodes will air
After premiere week, one episode will air each Monday and Tuesday. The initial three-episode block leaves five episodes for subsequent slots. The announced time concerns tvN’s Korean broadcast, making the opening week distinct from the schedule that follows it.
For the first evening, tvN will partially shorten and adjust episode one while preserving the story’s flow and viewer engagement as closely as possible. The channel links the later airtime to the production’s genre and viewing conditions, and the opening structure to its narrative progression.
The connection to the original Signal
The original Signal aired in 2016. Detectives in the past and present communicated through a walkie-talkie to reopen long-unsolved cases. That connection between different moments in time defined the series’ investigative mechanism. Its continuation arrives ten years after the original production.
Kim Eun-hee returns as screenwriter, with The Night Owl director Ahn Tae-jin directing the new series. Prepared in the context of tvN’s 20th anniversary, the production was initially scheduled for June. The November 6 announcement now establishes a December return and a concrete plan for its opening episodes.
